Paranaense’s Deceptive Move Nearly Derails Vitor Roque’s Barcelona Transfer

Vitor Roque

In a nerve-wracking turn of events, Vitor Roque’s highly anticipated move to FC Barcelona was almost derailed due to an unexpected complication engineered by Athletico Paranaense. The Brazilian striker, who has become an integral part of Barcelona’s plans for the future, finds himself on the cusp of realizing his dream, despite remaining with his current club until January due to logistical constraints. However, an unforeseen obstacle threatened to jeopardize the transfer this past Saturday.

FC Barcelona had diligently sent all the necessary transfer documents to Athletico Paranaense for final ratification, seemingly sealing the deal. Yet, the player’s legal team intervened, halting the process in its tracks. While both Barcelona and Vitor Roque were in complete agreement regarding the terms of their respective contracts, it was during the review of the documents between the clubs that the striker’s lawyers uncovered a cunning ploy orchestrated by the Brazilian club.

Vitor Roque had a preexisting agreement with Paranaense to receive a percentage of his transfer fee from Cruzeiro to Paranaense, a sum that the club still owed him. However, Paranaense took advantage of the transfer agreement with Barcelona to include a clause that required the player to relinquish any claim to the outstanding amount owed to him. The discovery of this “trap” by the player’s legal representatives brought the entire operation to a standstill. Complicating matters further, the incident unfolded late at night in Brazil, leaving little time for immediate resolution, given the time difference with Barcelona.

Anxiety permeated the atmosphere, particularly within the Barcelona camp, as the realization dawned that the entire deal hung in the balance unless Paranaense agreed to remove the contentious clause that disadvantaged Vitor Roque, despite Barcelona’s lack of involvement in the matter. After a sleepless night, Barcelona swiftly set to work on revising the contract, expunging the harmful clause. The revised documents were prepared and sent once again for Athletico Paranaense’s approval.

Hours of tense negotiations followed, fraught with uncertainty as Barcelona waited anxiously for the Brazilian club’s response. Finally, on Sunday afternoon, the revised contracts were signed by both Athletico Paranaense and Vitor Roque in Curitiba, securing the Brazilian forward as Barcelona’s newest acquisition for the next seven seasons. The transfer fee stands at €30 million fixed, with an additional €31 million in variable payments.

Barring any unforeseen miracles or constraints imposed by player departures and Financial Fair Play regulations, Vitor Roque will have to exercise patience and wait until January to fulfill his lifelong dream of donning the prestigious Barcelona jersey. While the journey to realize this transfer has been beset with unexpected obstacles, the resilience and determination displayed by all parties involved stand as a testament to their unwavering commitment to making this move a reality.

England manager Gareth Southgate against France in the World Cup 2022 quarter-final Southgate has allowed a new generation of England fans to dream. His accomplishments should not be downplayed or ignored. But England can't quite get over the hill when it counts. As was evident last night, and Italy in the final of the Euros, England struggle to turn that firm grip on the game into chances and goals. Deschamps's men were not better than England's. They just had that vital 1 per cent that carried them through. Winners win football matches. England had a better xG. England (2.59) 1-2 (1.32) France. Sure 2 of the chance were penalties which boosted the xG for England, but then its the tiny margins that can decide a World Cup knockout game. Both sides were taking out their opponents strengths, but then their own strength was not coming into play. England were creating chances, but never ones you thought had to be goals. Kyle Walker was stuck blunting Mbappe, and the same was ...
