The changing role: Will Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessié start tonight against Viktoria Plzen?

Christensen and Kessie were Barca's first two signings this summer

 

The fierce competition at Barça has relegated Kessie and Christensen to the background at the start of the season.

The Dane formed a partnership with Eric Garcia throughout the preseason and during the first two La Liga matches. A fever prevented him from playing against Real Valladolid and against Sevilla he was already on the bench. The arrival of Kounde places him one step below.

Kessie has not started in any of the four official matches that have been played to date. He played only 17 minutes against Rayo, the last 6 against Real Sociedad and the last 14 against Valladolid. At the Sánchez-Pizjuán he didn't play.

Xavi acknowledged that he will help the team and will be important, but it is a question of "adaptation" to the Barca style. The truth is that Busquets, Gavi, Pedri and De Jong are still ahead in the pecking order.

The season is long and tonight both players are expected to add minutes against Viktoria Plzen and could even be part of Xavi's starting 11.

Juventus Expresses Interest in Signing Abde from Barcelona
