After months of negotiation, waiting for the player to turn 18, Barça has announced the renewal of Gavi on a four year contract, until 2026.
A key player in Xavi's plans since last year, the Sevillian will have a release clause of 1 billion euros, like the other renewed youngsters: Pedri, Ansu Fati, Araujo and Ferran Torres.
He will still wear the number '30' till January, and that's when the club will be able to give him the new number, as happened with Leo Messi in 2006. The Argentine also debuted the first team with the same number as Gavi and in January he picked up the '19'.
According to Sport, Gavi will see his salary increase significantly. In Barca' new salary structure, he will be one level below Ronald Araujo.
