FRENKIE DE JONG REFUSES TO JOIN MANCHESTER UNITED. ONLY CHELSEA OR BAYERN!

  • Chelsea and Bayern play the Champions League
  • London and Munich are attractive cities
Frenkie de Jong still refuses to leave FC Barcelona. The Dutch midfielder has an offer from Manchester United. According to Fernando Polo, Barcelona have made it clear to him and his agent that they would like to see the transfer materialize considering their finncial situation.

Frenkie is not the prototype of the midfielder that fits into Barca's 4-3-3 system, although Xavi would only accept his departure if they brought him a higher quality midfielder such as Bernardo Silva.

Frenkie is not seduced by the idea of going to a city like Manchester and a club that will not play in the Champions League. There is no guarantee that United's absence from Europe's top competition lasts longer as the Premier League top four is expected to be awar zone right now and United's project under Ten Hag is relatively new.

Here are the odds to finish in the top 4.

An offer from Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich or Chelsea could attract de Jong. The two cities are attractive, and both teams have squads that are more than likely to guarantee Champions League football, although in Chelsea's situation that could end up being a problem this year.

Bayern Munich haven't shown any interest in signing de Jong lately. However, according to Lluis Canut, Bayern were interested sometime last year. There is speculation around Chelsea's interest.

Chelsea's new owner, Todd Boehly had dinner with Barca president Joan Laporta recently without the subject of de Jong coming up. At Barça, they are considering a reduction in Frenkie's wages as the lesser evil, since they are finding it difficult to overcome his resistance to leaving, unless Xavi makes it very clear to him that he will play very little.

Where it went wrong for Three Lions against France in the World Cup and is manager Southgate the right man to lead England to the Euros 2024

England manager Gareth Southgate against France in the World Cup 2022 quarter-final Southgate has allowed a new generation of England fans to dream. His accomplishments should not be downplayed or ignored. But England can't quite get over the hill when it counts. As was evident last night, and Italy in the final of the Euros, England struggle to turn that firm grip on the game into chances and goals. Deschamps's men were not better than England's. They just had that vital 1 per cent that carried them through. Winners win football matches. England had a better xG. England (2.59) 1-2 (1.32) France. Sure 2 of the chance were penalties which boosted the xG for England, but then its the tiny margins that can decide a World Cup knockout game. Both sides were taking out their opponents strengths, but then their own strength was not coming into play. England were creating chances, but never ones you thought had to be goals. Kyle Walker was stuck blunting Mbappe, and the same was ...
