MIRALEM PJANIC WILL DO THE PRE-SEASON WITH XAVI

Miralem Pjanic will do the preseason with Xavi and then decide his future. The Bosnian midfielder, who still has two years left on his contract with Barça, wants to assess the options well before making a decision. Marseille is interested on a loan signing.

Two weeks ago the player threatened to fulfill the remaining two years of his contract. However, as per Mundo Deportivo, the player's entourage assures that Pjanic will arrive at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on July 4, the day Xavi Hernandez has summoned the squad to undergo medicals and kick off the team’s pre-season. After the pre-season is over and before the transfer market closes, Pjanic will sit down with Xavi and decide his future move.

The reality is that in midfield there are a lot of players and Barcelona’s objective is to save on the Bosnian's salary. The latest club to contact Barça is French side Marseille, who want to sign him on loan with an option to make the deal permanent next summer. Marseille can commit to Pjanic's wages but not a transfer fee. The club's president Pablo Longoria has a good relationship with Barça's director of football Mateu Alemany. Last summer they did a deal for Konrad de la Fuente.

Napoli have shown the most interest so far and are also keen on a loan deal. Barça would like to include him in a deal for defender Koulibaly to bring the price down.
