BARCELONA THINK DE LIGT IS TOO EXPENSIVE! SIGNING RULED OUT.

De Ligt is a player that Barça has been interested in for a long time.

Former Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu said back in 2019: "There will be time to speak about him. Each year the club has an interest in making signings and this summer will be the same. De Ligt, like the other best players, is on the table."

Fast forward to 2022, De Ligt's name is still being linked to Barcelona. However, Barça has already ruled out the possibility of entering the bid for the Dutch center-back because his appraisal is beyond economic possibilities and there are other center-backs Barca prioritize.

De Ligt has been offered again to the Catalan giants in recent days given there's a real possibility that he will leave Juventus this summer. But his price is excessive. Juve asks for 100 million euros for the transfer - a figure they are willing to negotiate down - and has a salary that exceeds 10 million euros per year.

De Ligt has not renewed with Juventus, who want to extend his deal until 2026. The Italian club are now thinking of selling the defender who has a contract until 2024, per Corriere dello Sport. One of the main reasons for the non-renewal is that de Ligt demands a lowering of the release clause.

The Dutch international was already on top of Barça's signing priorities during the January window. The player's agents were already talking about the possibility of him leaving this summer and the club did the numbers, but even then the operation looked tremendously complicated.

De Ligt has broken off negotiations to renew with Juventus and the Italian club wants to release him because his contract ends in 2024 and they want to recover their investment. He cost 75 million euros and the Dutchman has performed very irregularly in the team.

Barça is looking for a top-level central defender, but the figures being quoted for De Ligt are almost inaccessible. In England there are teams such as Chelsea and Manchester united who are willing to bid the high price.

Barça is focusing on signing Sevilla's Koundé as a first option and, if that's not possible, they will try to close the arrival of Napoli's left profile central defender, Koulibaly. Both are top-tier options and at a much more affordable price than De Ligt.

Ez Abde Italian club Juventus has reportedly made inquiries to Barcelona regarding the potential signing of Abde, according to the ‘Tuttomercato’ portal. The Turin-based team has directly approached Barcelona to inquire about the starting price for the young talent, with negotiations potentially settling around 15 million euros. Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has been closely monitoring Abde’s performances throughout the season, both with Osasuna and the Moroccan national team, and is a strong advocate for the player’s acquisition. Abde is expected to be available for Barcelona’s upcoming US tour. While Xavi Hernández initially intended to assess and develop the player’s potential, the Catalan club recognizes Abde’s market value and the opportunity to generate revenue from a potential transfer. Where it went wrong for Three Lions against France in the World Cup and is manager Southgate the right man to lead England to the Euros 2024

England manager Gareth Southgate against France in the World Cup 2022 quarter-final Southgate has allowed a new generation of England fans to dream. His accomplishments should not be downplayed or ignored. But England can't quite get over the hill when it counts. As was evident last night, and Italy in the final of the Euros, England struggle to turn that firm grip on the game into chances and goals. Deschamps's men were not better than England's. They just had that vital 1 per cent that carried them through. Winners win football matches. England had a better xG. England (2.59) 1-2 (1.32) France. Sure 2 of the chance were penalties which boosted the xG for England, but then its the tiny margins that can decide a World Cup knockout game. Both sides were taking out their opponents strengths, but then their own strength was not coming into play. England were creating chances, but never ones you thought had to be goals. Kyle Walker was stuck blunting Mbappe, and the same was ...
