Gavi 's renewal is on the way to being resolved but we will have to wait. Mateu Alemany started the day early as at 1:00 pm Sergi Roberto's contract has to be renewed. The meeting with Ivan de la Pena, Gavi's agent was the first of the day.

There is a five-year contract on the table and a termination clause of 1 billion euros like those of Pedri and Araujo. Today's meeting, however, ended without an agreement but they've agreed to meet in the coming days to clarify some contractual technicalities.

Gavi will be on the same salary tier as Ronald Araujo, who recently signed until 2026. Like the Uruguayan central defender, Gavi, whose contract ends in 2023, had more attractive offers financially, but the Andalusian prodigy has been clear that he wants to stay at Barça.

Gavi is a regular starter in the line-ups of Xavi Hernández at Barça and Luis Enrique at the Spanish team. He is expected to feature in the World Cup in Qatar if nothing goes wrong. Today he still has the salary of a subsidiary player.
